Hi Kurt,

Thanks for writing in and letting us know about Alletronic. It's refreshing to see that a good alternative to paper receipts exists already. I believe one way to get the big stores to sign on is for shoppers to sign up for Allentronic and then try to use the service wherever they shop. If a retailer doesn't offer the service, shoppers should complain. We all know that retailers want happy customers. I am signing up. I hope Recygal.com readers sign up too.

Thanks again,

-R.G.

I'm totally with you with how wasteful receipts are. It's so frustrating! I love the digital receipts idea. After doing a bit of research I found a company that has quite an innovative solution for this: www.alletronic.com. Alletronic lets you receive "paperless" receipts from any retailer that uses their service. What you do is "link" any of your credit or debit cards to your alletronic account, then when you pay for something with it a receipt gets sent to your account. What a simple but ingenious idea! Also, you can hook up a phone number to your account to get paperless receipts when you pay with cash. To receive one when you pay with cash, you give your number to the cashier at checkout.

I haven't seen any big stores using the service yet, but they better jump on board soon! I think this company has a great solution.
